Global Education Charitable Foundation Inc. (GECFI) is a Christian based licensed charity registered under the Western Australia Associations Incorporation Act 1987. We are registered with ACNC as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), with the main purpose to advance social or public welfare and to advance education. We are also endorsed as deductible gift recipient (DGR) by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) which we are entitiled to receive donations that are deductible from the donor's income tax.
It all started back in 2004, when a number of the founding members started a program “Breaking the Poverty Cycle” to support children in need in remote areas of Qijiang and Chongqing in China. The program then aimed to help these children attend school to receive and complete their basic education. Back then, we also provide Emergency Relief to children of disaster affected areas, to enable them to continue their education while the affected areas are being rebuilt. Over the years, the number of children assisted has increased dramatically. The foundation now extends its assistance to include anyone in third world/ developing countries who are struggling to complete/advance their education. Currently, our assistance has reached those in need in Myanmar and West Africa.
